The landlocked country of Zambia, located in Southern Africa, is one of the poorest countries in the world. According to the World Food Programme, 14.3% of the adult population is living with HIV, resulting in 1 in 5 children being orphaned. Due to intermittent drought and a missing generation of people (due to HIV), food insecurity is a recurring fact of life for 350,000 people in Zambia. These significant societal challenges are being addressed by local churches in sustainable and transformational ways, addressing issues such as food insecurity.
Through our ChristCentral Apostolic family, we can help the local church in Zambia. We do this through the Creation call initiative that seeks to help the church make a difference in a world affected by climate change and natural disasters such as drought. And by partnering with Joseph Mwila, part of the ChristCentral apostolic team, who shepherds a congregation of several hundred in Kitwe and has established additional churches throughout the Copperbelt region of Zambia. Alongside apostolic ministry from Newfrontiers in South Africa, we can aid these churches in fighting poverty and spreading the gospel.
